Intercurricular Enrichment
Our centre values the importance of the first six years of life, which is vitally important for children’s learning and brain development. We aim to provide the children in our care with the opportunity to explore, learn, plan, predict, hypothesise, create, develop friendships, and develop in all areas through play, positive guidance, interest-based teaching, inquiry teaching, intentional teaching and genuine praise.
Cornubia Park being a Children’s Centre of Excellence, therefore, offers a holistic approach to childcare, providing children with the most thoughtfully developed experiences and advanced play-based learning programs. Planned inter-curricular enrichment activities include:
- Kindy gymnastics and gross motor skill development
- Dance lessons
- Intro Tennis
- Taekwondo
- Yoga
- Language lessons
- Speech pathology
- Family counselling/Behaviour guidance
Children are all individuals, and they need to be encouraged to discover and reach their full potential by being offered many avenues to explore their natural talents. We believe in Malaguzzi’s image of the child:
“Our image of the child is rich in potential, strong, powerful, competent, and most of all, connected to adults and other children.” Malaguzzi L 1993 “For an Education Based on Relationships.” Young Children Nov p10.
