Health and nutrition

Healthy eating begins in childhood and forms the absolute foundation of lifelong health and wellbeing. We believe children need to be inspired and encouraged to eat nourishing, wholesome food from a young age.

There is a strong connection between nutrition, behaviour, and learning outcomes. That’s why we’re passionate about providing the children in our care with tasty, balanced meals made with love—supporting their growth, development, and capacity to learn.

Our centre’s menu was originally developed with the expertise and guidance of Rebecca (Bec), a passionate naturopath, nutritionist, and foodie. As a former owner and long-time advocate for children’s health, Bec played a key role in shaping our food philosophy. Drawing from her years of experience coaching families in healthy eating and raising her own four children, Bec created a menu rich in wholefoods, seasonal produce, and plant-based goodness—all with a deep understanding of children’s nutritional needs.

Inspired by Bec’s legacy and supported by our skilled onsite chefs, we continue to serve up wholesome, home-cooked meals that give children the best possible start in life. Our predominantly plant-based menu includes a wide variety of food groups to ensure children receive their daily macronutrient requirements. Research from Queensland Health’s Chief Health Officer Report shows that only 4% of children consume enough vegetables. We’re committed to turning that around—offering veggies in 2–4 meals a day and aiming to meet 50–70% of a child’s recommended daily intake.

Every meal we serve is thoughtfully crafted to be nutritious, substantial, delicious, and familiar to young tastebuds. We regularly update the menu based on feedback from both educators and children, ensuring meals are enjoyed by all. Educators also eat alongside children, role-modelling healthy eating habits in a positive and engaging way.

We are proud to nourish the minds and bodies of our beautiful Cornubia Park community and can’t wait to share this wholesome journey with you!
